To ensure only non-sensitive, aggregated data will be exchanged, EUCAN-Connect expands on an existing, safe, robust data access platform DataSHIELD. Cohorts initially will use Opal software, a core database application for biobanks, to create the data access points in a way compatible with DataSHIELD.
Opal is a data warehousing platform developed by OBiBa that provides all the necessary tools to import, transform and describe data. Subject’s identifiers can also be managed at data import and export time.
