Rudolf Wittner, BBMRI-ERIC: EOSC-Life project Common Provenance Model
- Conceptual foundation for ISO 23494 – Provenance information model for biological specimen and data (Presentation)
- Use-case demo
- Discussion
The exchange of research data and biological materials has become an issue of major importance for life sciences. Since these objects are passed between different organizations, each organization can document only part of the objects’ life cycle. This presentation aims to introduce the Common Provenance Model which supports the creation of distributed provenance chains documenting the whole life-cycle of the objects in complex, multi-organizational environments. The model is currently developed within the EOSC-Life project and serves as a conceptual foundation for the “ISO 23494 — Provenance information model for biological specimen and data” standard.
